Big Shiny Tunes is a cultural-media project about Canadian music memory: what people remember, what survives, and what gets lost when a show, a record or a scene moves on.
The archive brings together photography, recordings, live sessions, stories, objects and other documentation. Event photography and hosted live sessions are part of this archive rather than separate programs.
The point is not to manufacture nostalgia. It is to keep primary traces of music culture available to the people who made it and the people who discover it later.
