The Creative Clubhouse
A nonprofit cultural umbrella for a growing body of independent creative work.
The umbrella does not have to be the star.
The Creative Clubhouse gives a common institutional identity to projects that are already expressed through their own names, aesthetics and audiences.
Culture in practice
The record includes music, live performance, community programming, photography, media, technology, nostalgia and cultural discovery. The projects are different by design. Their relationship is the point.
Montreal
The Clubhouse is rooted in Montreal and participates in the city's independent cultural life through artists, audiences, events, public spaces, documentation and creative practice.
The archive
The archive is not separate from the work. Performances, photographs, sessions, releases, objects and event records form the evidence of an active cultural practice.
Public language
Each project can speak in its own voice. Strong cultural language and project mythology are part of the creative record; factual descriptions remain distinguishable from self-authored positioning.
The Creative Clubhouse is the name of the network that is already visible through the work.
