The question
The work began with a simple problem: creative projects often have to rebuild the same infrastructure every time. The early practice explored how a shared home for making, presenting and documenting culture could work.
The organization is the formal home for cultural work that developed across cities, event production, music-making, public programming, documentation and creative technology over more than a decade.
The work began with a simple problem: creative projects often have to rebuild the same infrastructure every time. The early practice explored how a shared home for making, presenting and documenting culture could work.
Years working in event and festival production exposed the less-visible side of cultural activity: permits, schedules, public space, logistics, community relationships, production systems and the work required to make a public experience happen.
The focus moved increasingly toward music production, recording and artist infrastructure. Dirty Eddy grew through this period alongside studio work, technical experiments and live-performance development.
In Montréal, the work expanded into public programming and documentation: Open Mic MTL, DansePlus, Big Shiny Tunes, MusicAndTech, TonightInMTL and audiovisual experiments developed in parallel rather than as one single brand.
The Creative Clubhouse Ltd. was incorporated as the organizational home for this growing body of cultural work. The purpose of the umbrella is practical: keep projects connected to shared infrastructure while allowing each one to retain its own identity.
Current work combines public gatherings, independent music, cultural memory, documentation and creative technology. The archive grows alongside the activity.
